Refocus is built to protect your attention and your privacy.

The short version

Refocus does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any of your data. There is no backend, no server, no analytics, and no account. Everything happens locally in your browser.

What Refocus stores

• Your blocklist (the sites you choose to block) and your settings (on/off, streak counter, "times refocused" count) are saved using Chrome's local storage. This never leaves your device.

Why Refocus requests each permission

• declarativeNetRequest — to redirect blocked sites to the Refocus block screen. Chrome applies these rules internally; the extension never sees your browsing traffic.
• storage — to remember your blocklist and settings locally.
• history — read locally, only to show you how many times you visited a site on your own blocklist in the last 7 days. This reading happens on your device, the result is shown only to you, and nothing is stored or sent anywhere.
• alarms — for lightweight internal scheduling.
• host_permissions (<all_urls>) — required so the block rules can apply to whichever sites you decide to block. Refocus does not read, log, or transmit page contents.

Data sharing

None. No data is ever sent off your device to us or to any third party.
